Make It Happen is a campaign to gather and share positive stories about living, working and playing in Springfield, Massachusetts. The campaign is designed to amplify the voices of the many individuals and organizations that are improving the city and gives them the opportunity to share their ideas on how others can “Make It Happen” too.
There are not many communities in the country who have had 375 birthdays. In fact, Springfield, Massachusetts was founded 140 years before our country declared its independence. Over the course of almost four centuries, the residents of the city have contributed some of the ideas and innovations that made the United States the world leader it is today. Dr. Seuss and James Naismith both once called “The City of Homes” their home.
Businesses are opening, expanding, and thriving in Springfield, Massachusetts. Throughout its history, people have found the city to be a great place to start and build a business. While it retains its manufacturing legacy, the city is also home to Baystate Health, the leading healthcare institution in the region, and MassMutual, one of the largest insurance companies in the world.
Springfield, Massachusetts is home to many of the regions premier cultural events, hotels and entertainment venues, and unique restaurants. One recent event, the Hoop City Jazz and Art Festival brought talent from around the country and residents from around the region into the city for three days of food, fun, and an earful of joy.
